The European Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee (“JURI”) will discuss mediation again at ‘Civil Law & Justice Forum’ in Brussels in February.
ADR Center from Italy was asked to write a report and present it at the Forum, building on their presentation of the results of the 2013-2014 “Rebooting the Mediation Directive” study
(http://www.europarl.europa.eu/RegData/etudes/etudes/join/2014/493042/IPOL-JURI_ET(2014)493042_EN.pdf).
This is a great new opportunity to attract the Forum’s attention to mediation and its use, given the fact that this is the Committee that will continue to work on the revision of the EU Directive (EU/2008/52) on mediation, which is due in 2016.
All that said, I would like to kindly ask you to fill in the mediation survey, which you find at this link: https://it.surveymonkey.com/s/77T6PKK
The survey responses will be the basis of this presentation and written report and will, therefore, be greatly appreciated.
Not only that, but it will also be helpful for the EU legislative bodies to have a good understanding of the current status of mediation in the national legal systems of the Member States and its problems, in order to be able to deal with them more effectively on a European level.
I very much hope you can spare a few minutes of your time to fill in the questionnaire
Survey closes on January 26, 2015
